N-6-(Δ2-Isopentenyl)-adenine is a cytokinin and therefore also acts as a plant-growth regulator. It has been found to support the propagation of microshoot cultures of Genista plants in vitro. Can be used to grow plant tissues such as tobacco and soybean callus.
