Deoxynivalenol is an nhibitor of the synthesis of DNA and RNA. It acts by inducing IL-6 mediated serum hyperelevation of IgA, as well as phosphorylation of extracellular signal regulated protein kinases 1 and 2 (ERK 1,2) and c-Jun N-terminal kinases 1 and 2 (JNK 1,2) in mice.
