It has also been used to inhibit other flavoenzymes such as neutrophil NADPH oxidase and to bind strongly to flavoproteins. It is thus a powerful and specific inhibitor of several important enzymes, including NADPH cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase, NADPH oxidases and NADPH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase.
